Body Ready Method® in the Twin Cities
With Minnesota's Only Chiropractor + Midwife
Body Ready Method® is birth preparation for your body. Rather than general prenatal exercise, Dr. Chrisi assesses how your pelvis, core, and whole body are actually moving, then builds a plan specific to you. The goal is simple: give your baby the most room to navigate, help your labor progress more comfortably, and set you up for a smoother recovery.
Preparing with your partner? See the Body Ready Birth® Workshop, a hands-on half day for couples.
Most Birth Prep Tells You What Happens. Almost None of It Prepares Your Body for It.
You have probably been told to walk more. Bounce on a ball. Maybe do some cat-cows. All fine. None of it is specific to you.
Here is what nobody says out loud: the way your body moves through your day is already shaping how your birth will go. The hip that pops every time you stand. The side you sleep on every single night. The desk you sit at for nine hours. The cesarean scar from last time. The pelvic floor that has been gripping so hard for so long it has forgotten how to let go.
None of that shows up on an ultrasound. All of it shows up in labor.
And when labor stalls, the medical model has a schedule to keep. Pitocin. Epidural. "Failure to progress." Sometimes a cesarean that may have been avoidable if someone had simply known which position to move you into, and when.
You cannot control everything about your birth. But there is a real, specific, physical list of things you can control, and almost nobody is teaching it. That is the gap Body Ready Method® fills.
What Is the Body Ready Method®?
Body Ready Method® (BRM®) is a prenatal and postpartum functional movement system that prepares the birthing body for a more efficient labor and a smoother recovery. Rather than general prenatal fitness, BRM® assesses five specific areas of the body and builds a targeted plan to improve balance, mobility, and responsiveness, so your baby has optimal space to navigate the pelvis.
BRM® was developed by Lindsay McCoy and is used by more than 1,300 certified professionals across 50 countries. It is endorsed by DONA International, the International Childbirth Education Association, the American College of Nurse-Midwives, and the ICPA.
The Five Pillars of Body Ready Method®
Every assessment looks at these five systems and, just as importantly, at how they talk to each other.
Pelvis
Mobility and symmetry across all three levels your baby has to navigate.
Pelvic Floor
Responsiveness, not just strength. One that cannot release is as much of a problem as one that is weak.
Core
Function, pressure management, and breath. Your pushing mechanism and your baby's container.
Upper Body
Ribcage and shoulder mobility. A locked ribcage restricts the diaphragm, which restricts the pelvis.
Movement Patterns
How you actually move all day. Where the compensations live and where the biggest wins are.
Why We Talk About the Three Levels of Your Pelvis
This is the piece that changes how mamas think about birth, and it is the reason a generic list of "labor positions" so often falls flat.
Your pelvis is not one opening. It is three, and they do not open at the same time or with the same movements. Your baby has to travel through each one in sequence, rotating as they go.
Where baby enters
The top of the pelvis, where your baby first engages. It opens best with positions that tip the pelvis forward and bring the knees closer together than the feet.
Where babies most often get stuck
The narrowest passage and the level most commonly overlooked entirely. Rotation happens here, and asymmetrical movement is usually what helps.
Where baby is born
The bottom of the pelvis. It opens with positions that widen the sit bones and free the tailbone, which are the very positions that close the inlet.
Which means the position that helps you at 4 centimeters can be the exact position working against you at 9. Squatting early can press your baby against an inlet that has not opened yet. Staying on your back late can trap a tailbone that needs to move. This is often the difference between a labor that keeps moving and a labor that stalls.
How This Shapes the Way Dr. Chrisi Prepares You
- She finds out which levels are restricted in your body specificallyThrough the five-pillar assessment, she identifies whether the restriction sits at the inlet, the mid-pelvis, or the outlet. That is what makes your plan yours instead of generic.
- Your movement plan targets those restrictions directlyRather than a list of every position that exists, you get the handful that address what your body is actually holding, practiced until they are familiar.
- You learn what to reach for at each stage of laborEarly labor, active labor, transition, and pushing each call for different positions. You leave knowing which is which and why, so the choice is not guesswork at 3 a.m.
- You get a written plan you can hand to your birth teamYour printable Labor Movement Cheat Sheet lays out the sequence in plain language so the people in the room with you can follow it too.
Why Families Drive Across the Twin Cities
There are more than twenty BRM® certified pros in Minnesota. Almost all of them can only do one half of the work. Here is what makes MotherBaby different.
Credentials No One Else Has
- Minnesota's only dual chiropractor and midwife
- Webster Certified since 2015 for pelvic balancing
- BRM® Pro Certified for advanced birth biomechanics
- CACCP Certified, one of only six in the Twin Cities
- ICPA Perinatal Certified for prenatal and pediatric care
Experience in the Room
- 300+ births attended as a Certified Professional Midwife
- 11+ years of prenatal and pediatric practice
- Thousands of women supported through pregnancy and birth
- She has seen stalled labor at 3 a.m. firsthand
- Two home births of her own, not theory
Care That Does Not Stop
- Assessment and chiropractic care in the same visit
- A practice built exclusively around mothers and babies
- The same provider for your postpartum recovery
- The same provider for your newborn, including tethered oral tissue
- A calm, unhurried space and a community of mamas
The honest truth: if you just want movement homework, plenty of good people in this metro can give you that. If you want someone who can assess your body, treat what she finds, and tell you what it means for your labor because she has actually managed labors, that is a much shorter list. In Minnesota, it is a list of one.
What Happens in a Body Ready Method® Session
No mystery and no vague "we will see how it goes." Every visit is gentle, unhurried, and built around your body.
What to Expect in Your Session
- A conversation about your body and your birth goalsPrevious births, current symptoms, what you are worried about, where you are planning to deliver, and who is on your team.
- A careful, individualized assessmentPosture, alignment, breath mechanics, gait, and how your five pillars are functioning. Dr. Chrisi shows you what she is seeing so you understand your own body better.
- Hands-on BRM® work where you need itManual balancing and soft tissue technique within the Body Ready Method® scope. If what she finds calls for chiropractic care, she will tell you, and you can add it to the same visit.
- Your movements, taught until they are yoursThree to five targeted movements chosen for what your body specifically needs, practiced until you can do them confidently on your own.
- A written plan in your inboxExactly what to do, how often, and what you should notice changing.
- A plan that grows with youYour body at 24 weeks is not your body at 36 weeks, and your plan should not be either.
What to wear: anything you can move in. Leggings and a fitted top are ideal so your alignment is visible.

For You and Your Birth Partner
Body Ready Birth® Workshop
Hands-On Practice · Every Labor Position · Only 4 Couples
Most childbirth classes teach you about birth. This one teaches your body how to do it.
You will spend the afternoon on the floor, in the positions, building the muscle memory and the neural pathways so that when you are deep in labor and thinking is hard, your body already knows what to do.
- Practice every major labor and pushing position in your actual body, before labor
- Learn which positions open which level of your pelvis, and when to use each one
- Build the brain-to-body pathways so the movements return automatically in labor
- Work through the common musculoskeletal issues that slow labor down
- Learn how to move well even with an epidural, continuous monitoring, or an IV
- Understand what to try, and in what order, when labor stalls
- Hands-on comfort and counter-pressure techniques you can both use
- Printable handouts to take home for your birth bag
Upcoming dates to be announced. With only four couples per workshop, waitlist members get first access when dates are released.
A note on the workshop: this is physical birth preparation. It is not a comprehensive childbirth education class and does not replace one. If you are looking for full childbirth education, take a look at our Complete Birth + Baby Course, which pairs beautifully with this work.
Sessions Tailored to Your Situation
Sometimes there is something specific going on. Baby is breech at 34 weeks. An induction is scheduled for Tuesday. You are 41 weeks and counting. You have had three nights of contractions that go nowhere.
Any session, whether it is your initial assessment or a follow-up, can be shaped entirely around what you are facing. The assessment framework stays the same, but the hands-on work, the movements you learn, and the guidance you leave with are all directed at your specific circumstance.
| If you are facing | What your session focuses on |
|---|---|
| Breech or transverse baby | Webster Technique alongside targeted balancing to address restrictions in the pelvis, ligaments, and soft tissue that may be limiting the space your baby has to move. Paired with movement work that supports an environment where baby can find their own way head-down. |
| Scheduled induction | Preparing your pelvis and soft tissue beforehand so your body starts the process in the best shape it can be, plus a practical movement plan for laboring around monitors, an IV pole, and limited mobility. |
| Post-term, 40+ weeks | Full-body balancing and the specific movements that support descent and engagement, with attention to the inlet in particular, since that is where an unengaged baby is usually waiting. |
| Prodromal labor | Contractions that start and stop are very often a positioning conversation rather than a stamina problem. The session focuses on creating space, easing the tension that may be holding baby asymmetrically, and giving you a clear plan for what to do when it starts again. |
| Posterior or OP baby | Targeted asymmetrical work to encourage rotation, plus the specific positions that open the mid-pelvis, where rotation actually happens. |
| VBAC preparation | Cesarean scar mobility, core function, and pelvic mobility work specific to a VBAC plan, along with the movement preparation that supports an efficient labor. |
| Pubic symphysis or SI pain | Getting you out of pain first, then addressing the underlying asymmetry so you go into labor moving well rather than guarding. |
| A difficult previous birth | Looking honestly at what happened, identifying what was physical and addressable, and building a plan that targets those specific things this time. |
Please take your time with the intake form. This is the single most useful thing you can do before your first visit. The more detail you give about what is happening, what you have already tried, how your previous births went, and what you are worried about, the more Dr. Chrisi can prepare in advance and the more of your appointment goes to actual hands-on work rather than gathering history. If something changes between booking and your visit, send an update.
Something happening right now? If baby is breech, an induction is scheduled, or you are past your guess date, call the office directly rather than booking online. Same-week appointments are held open for time-sensitive situations.
Add Specialized Chiropractic Care to Any Session
A Body Ready Method® assessment tells us what your body is doing. Movement work retrains it over weeks. But sometimes what turns up is a joint that is not moving, a sacrum that is torqued, or ligament tension holding your uterus asymmetrically, and those respond to skilled hands right now rather than in six weeks.
Most BRM® pros have to send you somewhere else for that. Dr. Chrisi does not.
What that includes
- Webster TechniqueA gentle, specific chiropractic approach designed for pregnancy, balancing the muscles, bones, and ligaments surrounding the pelvis.
- Round ligament and soft tissue releaseEasing the tension that limits how your uterus and baby can settle.
- Full-spine and pelvic adjustingOn specialized pregnancy tables built for comfort at every stage.
- Same visit, same providerNo referral, no waiting list, and no starting over with someone new.

That is $100 off your first visit, and every visit after is $65 instead of $75. You do not need to already be a patient. Just add it when you book, and Dr. Chrisi will let you know during your assessment whether it is something your body would benefit from.

When Should You Start?
Short answer: earlier than most people think, and it is almost never too late.
| Where you are | What Dr. Chrisi recommends |
|---|---|
| Trying to conceive or first trimester | The Blueprint. Establishing good movement patterns before the weight and the relaxin arrive is the easiest work you will ever do. |
| 16 to 24 weeks | Body Ready Complete. This is the sweet spot, with time to genuinely change how your body moves rather than just manage symptoms. |
| 24 to 32 weeks | Complete, or the Blueprint plus the Workshop. Still plenty of runway. |
| 32 to 36 weeks | The Blueprint plus the Workshop. Bodies respond fast to focused work at this stage, and the positioning practice matters most now. |
| 36+ weeks | One to two highly tailored sessions, an initial assessment plus a follow-up, focused entirely on where you are right now. Do not write this off. Two focused weeks of specific work has changed a lot of births. |
| Something is happening right now | Call the office directly so we can get you in this week. |
Why waiting costs you. Dr. Chrisi's 1:1 schedule is limited. Between clinical patient hours and her own two little ones, only a small number of BRM® assessment slots open each week. Bodies also need repetition. A movement you have done twice is not a movement your body will find at 4 a.m. in transition. Six weeks of consistent practice beats one rushed session.

As a certified BRM® Pro, Dr. Chrisi can get you a discount. Use code dcoK1470 at checkout, or just use the link below and it will be applied for you.
To be clear about what these are: the online programs are run by Body Ready Method® directly, not by MotherBaby, so they are a separate purchase and they do not replace a 1:1 assessment. What they will do is build a strong foundation. If you work through the material at home first, you will arrive at your assessment or the workshop already familiar with the movements and the language, and your time in the room goes much further.
Affiliate disclosure: MotherBaby Wellness Co. earns a small commission if you purchase through this link, at no additional cost to you. Dr. Chrisi only recommends programs she has trained in and uses with her own clients.
Complete Your Preparation
Body Ready Method® does one job extremely well. It prepares your body. But your body is only half of what walks into that room.
The mamas who feel genuinely ready are the ones who have done both: trained the body and understood the process. Knowing how to open your mid-pelvis does not help much if nobody has explained what your provider means when they offer to break your water. And knowing every intervention by name does not help if your pelvis cannot move when you need it to.
Half One
Body Ready Method® trains your body
- Pelvic, core, and pelvic floor mobility and function
- The three levels of the pelvis and which positions open each
- Movement patterns retrained over weeks, not memorized in an afternoon
- Hands-on care for what your body is physically holding
- Labor positioning your body can actually find under pressure
Half Two
The Complete Birth + Baby Course prepares your mind
- Pregnancy overview and your prenatal healthcare options
- How to choose your provider, including midwife versus OB
- The stages of labor, comfort measures, breathing, and relaxation tools
- Medical interventions, induction, and pain relief options explained plainly
- What to expect postpartum, plus newborn care basics
Together, that is the whole picture. A body that knows what to do, and a mind that knows what is happening and why.
Taught by a Dual Chiropractor and Midwife
The Complete Birth + Baby Course
Pregnancy · Labor · Postpartum · Newborn Care
Information is not the same as education.
Dr. Chrisi built this course out of everything she learned attending hundreds of births as a dual chiropractor and midwife, plus more than a decade of prenatal practice. It is the class she wishes every mama had before her birth, and it is genuinely comprehensive rather than the rushed three-hour hospital version.
- Understand what is actually happening in your body at every stage of labor
- Walk into conversations with your provider knowing your options
- Learn comfort measures, breathing, and relaxation you can use immediately
- Know what interventions mean before anyone offers you one
- Prepare for postpartum before you are in it, not during
- Start newborn care feeling capable rather than blindsided
Available anywhere. You do not need to be a Twin Cities family or a MotherBaby patient to enroll.
Each of these does something the others cannot. Together they cover your body, your mind, your partner, and the alignment underneath all of it. Booked separately they come to $1,272.

Is This Right for You?
Body Ready Method® is for you if
- You are planning a birth of any kind. Hospital, birth center, home, VBAC, planned cesarean, epidural, unmedicated. The physical prep applies regardless.
- You had a hard birth last time and you are not doing that again
- You are carrying aches, pelvic pain, SI pain, or pubic symphysis pain and have been told it is just part of pregnancy
- You are worried about tearing, abdominal separation, or pelvic floor issues after birth
- You want something more targeted than "walk 10,000 steps and bounce on a ball"
- Your baby is not in a great position and you want to give them the best possible chance to move
- You value function over fitness and want a plan built for your body
This might not be the right fit if
- You are looking for a comprehensive childbirth education class. This is physical preparation. It does not cover stages of labor, medical decision-making, pain medication options, or newborn care in depth. Our Complete Birth + Baby Course covers all of that, and the two work beautifully together.
- You want a workout program. BRM® is not cardio or strength training. It complements what you are already doing.
- You are looking for a guarantee. Nobody can promise a specific birth outcome, and anyone who does should worry you. What you can count on is walking in knowing your body, knowing what to do, and having done the work.
What Families Say
We found Dr. Chrisi at 33 weeks when we learned our baby was breech. She was the first provider who actually explained what was going on in my pelvis instead of telling me to just do inversions and hope. The Webster Technique work paired with my Body Ready Method movement plan gave me something concrete to do every day. Our girl turned at 36 weeks. Worth every minute of the drive from Woodbury.
Ashley S., Woodbury, MN
Learning the three levels of the pelvis completely changed how I approached labor. I knew which positions opened which level and when to use each one, so instead of panicking when things slowed down I just moved. My labor and delivery nurse asked me where I had learned it. If you are looking for real birth prep in the Twin Cities and not just another class, start here.
Sarah M., St. Louis Park, MN
After an unplanned cesarean with my first, I wanted a VBAC and had no idea where to begin. Body Ready Complete gave me a plan for my scar mobility, my core, and my pelvic mobility, and Dr. Chrisi adjusted it every single visit as I grew. I got my VBAC. She is the only provider I could find in the Twin Cities who is both a prenatal chiropractor and a midwife, and you feel that difference immediately.
Cassie J., Eden Prairie, MN
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Body Ready Method®?
Body Ready Method® is a prenatal and postpartum functional movement system that prepares the body for a more efficient birth and smoother recovery. It assesses five pillars, the pelvis, pelvic floor, core, upper body, and movement patterns, and builds a personalized plan to improve mobility, balance, and responsiveness so baby has optimal space.
How is Body Ready Method® different from prenatal yoga or a birth class?
Prenatal yoga is general movement. A birth class teaches you about the process. Body Ready Method® assesses your specific body and builds a targeted plan for it. It is the difference between a group fitness class and a trainer who watched you move first.
When should I start Body Ready Method® during pregnancy?
Between 16 and 30 weeks is ideal, since it allows time to genuinely change movement patterns rather than just manage symptoms. That said, focused work in the third trimester produces real change, and sessions are valuable right up to your guess date.
Is it too late to start at 36 weeks?
No. Bodies respond surprisingly fast to consistent, specific work. At 36 weeks Dr. Chrisi would typically recommend one to two highly tailored sessions, an initial assessment plus a follow-up, focused on positioning, mobility, and a usable labor plan for where you are right now.
Do I need to be fit or flexible to do this?
Not at all. Body Ready Method® is about function, not fitness. Many clients arrive having not exercised in months, or in significant discomfort. Everything is scaled to what your body can do today, and it progresses from there.
Can Body Ready Method® turn a breech baby?
No technique turns a baby. Babies turn themselves when they have the space to do it. Webster Technique and BRM® balancing work address restrictions in the pelvis, ligaments, and soft tissue that may be limiting that space. Many babies use it. Some do not.
Why does the three levels of the pelvis matter so much?
Because a position that opens one level can close another. Your baby has to pass through the inlet, the mid-pelvis, and the outlet in sequence, and each opens with different movements. Knowing which level your baby is at, and what to do about it, is often the difference between a labor that moves and one that stalls.
Can I book a follow-up without doing an initial assessment first?
No. Follow-up sessions build on the assessment and the plan created at your first visit, so the initial assessment always comes first. After that, you can book follow-ups one at a time as often or as rarely as you like.
Do you take insurance, HSA, or FSA?
MotherBaby Wellness Co. does not bill insurance. Many families are able to use HSA or FSA funds for these services, and an itemized receipt is available on request so you can submit it to your plan. Eligibility varies by plan, so please confirm with your administrator before booking.
Do I still need a doula and a childbirth class?
Yes, and Dr. Chrisi would encourage both. Body Ready Method® prepares your body physically. A childbirth education course prepares you for the process and the decisions, and The Complete Birth + Baby Course covers exactly that. A doula supports you in the room. They work together.
Can I do this if I am planning an epidural or a cesarean?
Absolutely. Epidural birth still involves positioning, and knowing how to move well with limited mobility matters enormously. For a planned cesarean, core and pelvic floor preparation directly supports your recovery. The five pillars apply to every birth.
What happens if I go into labor before finishing my plan?
Congratulations. Any unused sessions convert to postpartum recovery visits, so nothing is wasted. You can also choose to save a session for postpartum from the beginning if you would rather.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Follow-up sessions can be done virtually. The initial assessment needs to be in person, since the hands-on evaluation and manual work is a significant part of what makes this effective.
Where are you located and who do you serve?
MotherBaby Wellness Co. is at 1719 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343. Families come from Minnetonka, St. Louis Park, Edina, Eden Prairie, Golden Valley, Wayzata, Plymouth, Excelsior, Chanhassen, Minneapolis, and across the west metro and greater Twin Cities.

We would love to help you prep for birth!
Your first visit blends comfort with expert, professional care. We begin by getting to know you, your pregnancy, and how your body actually feels right now, before moving into a gentle, unhurried assessment of all five pillars.
From there, we explain what we are seeing before we do anything, then teach you the specific movements your body is asking for. Many mamas are surprised by how much sense their own body starts to make once someone finally shows them what is going on inside it.
However far along you are, this is a space to slow down, feel cared for, and start preparing your body for the day you meet your baby.
